Sodium Hydroxide Pellets (NaOH) is a strong base commonly used in tissue culture and various laboratory applications. Here are some specific uses of sodium hydroxide in tissue culture:
  1. pH Adjustment: One of the primary uses of sodium hydroxide in tissue culture is to adjust the pH of culture media. The optimal pH is crucial for cell growth and metabolism. NaOH is used to raise the pH of the medium to the desired level, ensuring a suitable environment for cell cultures.
  2. Sterilization: Sodium hydroxide - Pellets can be used in solution form in the sterilization of equipment and surfaces. Although not a primary sterilizing agent in tissue culture (where autoclaving is more common), NaOH solutions can be used to clean and decontaminate surfaces and glassware before use.
  3. Preparation of Reagents: NaOH is often involved in the preparation of various reagents and solutions that are used in tissue culture. For example, it can be used to dissolve certain compounds or to prepare buffer solutions.
  4. Detergent and Decontaminant: In some tissue culture protocols, sodium hydroxide is used as a detergent or decontaminant to remove biological residues and contaminants from culture vessels and other equipment.
  5. Cell Lysis: Sodium hydroxide can be used in protocols requiring cell lysis, where cells are broken open to release their contents for further analysis. This is particularly useful in molecular biology applications related to tissue culture.
  6. DNA and RNA Extraction: In some DNA and RNA extraction protocols, NaOH is used to denature proteins and nucleic acids, assisting in the isolation of these molecules from cell cultures.
When using sodium hydroxide in tissue culture, it is important to handle it with care due to its caustic nature. Proper safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), are essential to prevent chemical burns and other hazards associated with NaOH.

Disclaimer: Results may vary depending on specific cell lines, specifications, and experimental conditions. Consult with cell culture specialists and review comprehensive literature to tailor its use to your specific research needs.

Cute, unrealistically loud, and quickly outgrown
Color: Brown-D
This puppy is super cute. The heartbeat sound is louder than it needs to be. My puppy (8-11 weeks) doesn't seem to find it comforting. The cactus toys are cute but are destroyed easily. The rope toys in varying sizes are holding up well, but we will have to remove half of them as they are becoming a choking hazard size as our puppy grows. We've only had this a couple of weeks, and she's already outgrown most of what is in this set.

Great buy!! Would recommend
Color: Brown
Love this product. It is well made and worked so well to help our 9 week old puppy sleep at night. It is super soft and fluffy. It is as big as he is and he carries it around sometimes. He also plays with it and chews on it and it's holding up very well. He's 13 weeks old now. The heartbeat quality is good. I do not hear any sound, but you can feel the vibration in the dog. Not as realistic as I would have thought, but worked as we needed it to. The velcro that holds the heart in the product is very strong, it keeps the puppy out of it, me too sometimes. 😀 We looked at the more expensive products and this is definitely a great value. Well made and worth it. I would recommend this product! Truly a great buy!!

My 11 week old English bulldog puppy has found relief after leaving the farm with her siblings. Such a creative idea. It really works. Especially if you are crate training!
