Description
Oval Sheffield brass tea caddy (c. 1820-30)Late Georgian period oval brass tea caddy with applied rope edging on the upper edge of the lid and the rim. Centered on the lid is a sterling pineapple finial. The foot of the caddy has a narrow flair and both the oval body of the caddy and the oval lid top are seam soldered. The silvered surface has been lost with age & use, with faint traces remaining. Hand tooling marks are visible on the flat surfaces. Sheffield, England, circa 1820 30.

There is a tiny ding on the flared mouth rim and also on the foot ring
The surfaces have been professionally polished
