These plants are heavily influenced by lowii genetics so we expect lots of red color, rigid texture and possibly even lid hairs and exudate formed. We expect huge pitchers with purple color as they mature

This variety is renown as a slightly easier grower than the famous Musa aeae

This is a fast and vigorous grower that seems to do well under intermediate and lowland conditions

NOTE: We had a timer malfunction back in November 2019 and some of the older leaves may have some light burn

They also do very well under grow lights

It needs very good drainage or is prone to rot especially when young

It appreciates bright light with temperatures a bit on the cooler side especially at night time

They should be kept warm (over 70 degrees) and the photoperiod should be kept at a constant 12-14 hours

These plants prefer highland to intermediate temperatures

a tubby shape and lots of pitchers

The species has huge pitchers and exhibits a deep purple coloration that approaches black in some specimens
