The original jacket was embroidered with flowers in the Egyptian Revival style, an aesthetic trend popular in America in the 1920s. The Egyptian Revival, or "Egyptomania," as it was called at the time, was fanned by archaeological discoveries thorughout the decade, especially of the tomb of Tutankhamen in 1922.
