2019, VIK (Millahue Valley), Chile
Description
2019, VIK (Millahue Valley), ChileVIK vineyard was born amidst the foothills of the Andes mountains, within the Millahue Valley, named "Lugar de Oro" or "Golden Place" by the native Mapuche people. I really enjoyed this wine. Dark blood red. Very fragrant, sweet dark black and blue berries, tar, liquorice and raspberry leaf. Smooth with good firmness. Opened up nicely over time. Nice dry finish. Jo Charvill, June 2025.
the wine is fresh
citrusy aromas
The palate is very well balanced on the entry
This seems very different to other hot vintages with a ripe
There’s maybe a tiny bit of warmth on the aftertaste
Drinking Window: 2028 - 2058
000 cases of the 2013 Napanook Proprietary Red Wine
A medium ruby wine with a harmonious nose of gentle spice and ripe red fruit
or simply how it is settling into its next phase
touches of oyster shell complementing the cranberry and raspberry fruit on the finish that will hopefully gain a tad more persistence
passion fruit and candied ginger
A little more understated on the finish
