Tourmaline (Rubellite)This Tourmaline gem is a good example of how much fire and intensity these Nigerian Tourmalines can pack into a smaller sized stone. Even though this gem is less than 1 carat in weight, it's about as saturated as they come, showing intense pink coloring, bordering on red "Rubellite" hues. In terms of the color, the stone is honestly more red than pink and even has a tiny bit of a purple overtone in certain lighting. It does have some slight inclusions

it is a possibility that we may not see any Ludlamites from Huanuni for a long time

The crystals show a slight blue hue in areas when rotated in the light

and it really looks MUCH better than the photos would indicate because the birefringence makes it look somewhat "fuzzy" but it's actually a very good stone
