Haystack RockThe giant basaltic monolith known as Haystack Rock is an intertidal element on Cannon Beach in Oregon USA. It towers more than 235 feet (72 Meters). Over time erosion has separated it from being an exclusive land mass on the the coast to making it a land mass surrounded by the sea, though it is still accessible at low tide from land. Here, first light of day ignites the stack while freshly wet sand doubles its impact.
