What does it do

The hose will need to be trimmed

heat soak is minimised delivering increased performance again and again without the recovery cool-down times needed for the production intercooler

This reduces the conductive heat transfer and therefore allows power to remain more constant since the inlet does not heat soak as quickly as the stock inlet does
