Nepenthes peltata, BE-4613This species comes from Mindanao in the Phillipines. Its quite a variable species in both stature and color but generally produces very robust, tubby pitchers with a very wide mouth. The tendril insertion is peltate (meaning coming from inside the leaf) but plants have to be fairly large to exhibit this characteristic. Its documented to grow from 800 meters to over 1600 meters so its likely tolerant of a wide range of conditions. Weve grown it

Nepenthes singalana x tenuis is a diminutive cross with charming tubby red pitchers that would likely be a great terrarium or windowsill grower

They would make excellent candidates for windowsill growers

We've found it to be one of the easiest growing velvet leaved species

these all achieve the squat proportions at maturity that many deem desirable

and the arguments made for the split are based on a narrow set of cultivated material for both robcantleyi/nebularum

These plants have shown a high degree of variability thus far but seem to be heavily influenced by the sibuyanensis parentage with more pronounced teeth and striping coming from the male parent

This species was recently described and once was designated as “black truncata”

this hybrid is very vigorous and takes on much of the shape of ephippiata
